Pokopia’s next apple obsession arrives before its next paid expansion. Apples to Applin is a free event for owners of the base game, running from November 16, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. through December 1 at 4:59 a.m., according to the official announcement.
You do not need the Expansion Pass for this event. You do need the right software version and enough progress in a participating town. Those are worth checking before the apples arrive.
Get the town ready first
The official instructions require version 2.0.1 or later and completion of the town’s important request to rebuild its Pokémon Center. Check the version through Options on the Nintendo Switch 2 HOME menu.
Set the console to the actual date and time, and start the software while connected to the internet. An internet connection is required the first time the event is played. The published schedule ends early on December 1; do not read that date as a promise that the whole day is available.
The official pages give the announced clock times and console-date instructions. They do not establish a single worldwide instant that should be relabeled 5 a.m. Toronto time here. Use the instructions for your region and keep the console clock correct.
If you finish the town’s requirements during the event, you can still take part before it ends. The official troubleshooting step is to visit another town and return, or save and quit from the main menu and reopen the game.
Apples become furniture, then habitats
Applin brings the request. The Japanese official walkthrough says to talk to it near a Pokémon Center, then show Drifloon a doll to visit a Dream Island and gather Syrupy Apples from special trees.
Back at the Pokémon Center, the apples can be exchanged for event items, including apple-themed furniture. Those items can be used to create habitats for Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin and Hydrapple, alongside befriending Applin itself.
That makes the preparation more useful than simply logging in on the first morning. You are getting a town ready to support a chain of activities: meet, collect, exchange and build. The furniture is part of the route to the Pokémon, rather than merely a shopping list beside it.
The event does not take place on Cloud Islands or in Bubbly Basin. For Link Play, the official instructions point to Palette Town, exclude spectator mode and tell players to hear Applin’s explanation before connecting. Pokémon befriended during the event remain in town after it ends.
The Expansion Pass is not required for Apples to Applin; the December content has separate unlocks.
The November event needs the base game, version 2.0.1 or later and a rebuilt town Pokémon Center. December’s paid DLC needs version 3.0.0 and separate progress. The event ends before that expansion arrives.
December’s decorations have different requirements
December 9’s Dazzling Decorations is paid DLC. Its announcement requires version 3.0.0 and separate Withered Wasteland requests plus Drifloon’s “Find a doll!” request; those are expansion requirements.
Do not use those paid-expansion requirements as the checklist for the November event. The overlapping Pokémon Center language is exactly where a quick skim can mix them up.
What is still missing is a verified complete exchange-price list and every habitat recipe. A detailed existing event guide also identifies those limits. There is no confirmed all-items apple budget to promise here, and this is preparation from the announcements rather than an early hands-on walkthrough.
For now, the useful job is pleasantly small: update, rebuild, check the clock and make sure the first online start is possible. Your future apple-themed room can be extravagant. The preparation does not have to be.
