GTA 6 Standard vs Ultimate: Prices, Extras and Shared Bonuses

GTA 6 Ultimate buys a listed collection of extra vehicles, weapons, customization, destinations and activities. It does not have an exclusive claim on the digital preorder bonuses: qualifying purchases of Standard and Ultimate receive the same Vintage Vice City Pack and one-month GTA+ offer.

That distinction matters more than the word “Ultimate.” If you want the game and the shared promotion, Standard is an eligible route. If you want the premium extras themselves, compare their contents with the extra price. The current listings give us a shopping comparison, rather than a hands-on verdict about how good those extras are.

The listed prices in the United States and Canada

The U.S. PlayStation Store lists Standard at US$79.99 and Ultimate at US$99.99, a US$20 difference. The Canadian PlayStation page lists C$109.99 and C$139.99, a C$30 difference. Those are separate regional prices, not a currency conversion or a promise about every retailer’s checkout total.

The same country distinction applies to the separate Xbox Ultimate Edition Upgrade: the U.S. listing is US$20, while the Canadian listing is C$30. Both identify it as an add-on that requires the game. A US$20 upgrade is not a US$20 full copy of GTA 6.

Prices and account eligibility can change. The amounts above were checked November 1, 2026; match the country, platform and exact product before comparing an offer with them.

In the inspected PlayStation listings, Standard and Ultimate cost US$79.99 and US$99.99 in the United States, or C$109.99 and C$139.99 in Canada. The separate Xbox upgrade is US$20 or C$30; the public PlayStation upgrade price is unverified. Ultimate adds listed activities, five exclusive businesses, vehicles, weapons and customization. Eligible digital full-game purchases of either edition share the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ month.

The shared promotions do not explain the edition premium. The Ultimate-specific content does.

What Ultimate adds

Rockstar’s edition FAQ describes Ultimate as the game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Its extras span several categories rather than a single cosmetic bundle.

The vehicle and equipment list includes the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Jason’s safehouse vehicles, a Ganado Retro Build, the Shitzu Squalo and the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage. Clothing and appearance extras include Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear.

There are also the PTT Youngin$ Compound and Classic Car Collection activities. Five named businesses are listed as Ultimate-exclusive destinations: Rideout Customs, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo and One-Eyed Willie’s. Their listed functions cover vehicle modification, styling, clothing and tattoos.

That makes “just skins” an incomplete description of the package. It also does not tell us how substantial the activities are in play. A named destination is not a measured number of extra hours, and a vehicle list does not establish that every vehicle improves the game for every player.

The listing says extras are spread through Jason and Lucia’s story, with items encountered as chapters progress. Buying Ultimate therefore should not be read as a guarantee that every bonus is immediately usable at the beginning. The relevant question is whether those particular additions interest you enough to pay the regional premium.

Standard shares the digital bonuses

The Vintage Vice City Pack is a separate promotional bundle from the Ultimate upgrade. Its listed contents are a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Qualifying digital full-game purchases of either edition receive it alongside the one-month GTA+ offer. The standalone Ultimate upgrade is excluded from the PlayStation offer.

The deadlines need separate sentences because they do different jobs. PlayStation’s listing includes qualifying digital purchases by November 19, 2026; Rockstar describes the window as prior to November 20. That wording includes the announced November 19 launch date. Xbox’s U.S. and Canadian full-game listings give a cutoff prior to November 19, 2026, 23:59:59, without naming a timezone in that wording. Follow the country-specific platform terms rather than assuming midnight on your own clock applies everywhere.

The GTA+ claim deadline comes later. Rockstar’s redemption instructions give PlayStation buyers until March 31, 2027. Microsoft Store buyers have 180 days after the qualifying purchase. The later redemption window does not extend the earlier game-purchase eligibility window. An unclaimed month and a purchase that never qualified are different situations.

The membership offer is limited to one redemption per platform account. After the included month, GTA+ renews at its regular monthly price unless canceled. Existing members can claim the month too; Rockstar says it extends their next billing date. PlayStation also ties the benefit to the account that bought the game and specifies country and age eligibility. Xbox says subscription redemption is unavailable to child accounts with restrictions on age-restricted content; that is not a blanket exclusion of every child account.

For someone choosing an edition because of the promotion, this is the decisive point: eligible Standard purchases share it. Paying for Ultimate is a choice about Ultimate’s own extras, not a requirement for these shared digital bonuses. Read the claim instructions and renewal terms whichever edition you choose.

Standard leaves an upgrade option

Rockstar says Standard owners can buy the Ultimate upgrade separately. The current Xbox add-on prices make that route visible: US$20 or C$30, with the base game required.

That is useful if you want to separate two decisions: buying the game and deciding whether the premium content appeals to you. It does not guarantee that the add-on will always remain at the same price or that future offers will match today’s edition difference.

On PlayStation, Rockstar describes the upgrade route, but the inspected public Canadian upgrade listing showed no purchasable numeric price. Do not import the Xbox price and label it a verified Sony offer. An eligible signed-in account may also see a different purchase state from a public storefront view; the current listing does not establish what every account can buy later.

A physical box is another purchase distinction

Rockstar describes the boxed Standard version as a download code without a disc. It lists the Vintage Vice City Pack for physical preorders and says a physical Ultimate edition is not available. Boxed Standard owners can purchase the digital upgrade after redeeming their Standard code.

The physical-preorder list does not itself establish the same GTA+ month promised for qualifying digital full-game purchases. Check the exact retailer offer instead of carrying a digital-store benefit across to every box. For packaging, gifting and redemption details, see our guide to what the GTA 6 physical box includes.

Choose the extras you want

Standard is the straightforward choice if your priority is the base game and you do not already want the Ultimate-specific content. It also qualifies for the shared digital bonuses when the purchase meets the offer terms.

Ultimate is a reasonable preference for someone who specifically wants its listed vehicles, businesses, customization and activities. Those are concrete reasons to pay more. A label on the store page, a shared promotional month or an assumed number of extra hours is a weaker reason.

At the inspected prices, you are deciding whether that particular package is worth US$20 or C$30 to you. The contents are listed; their eventual gameplay value remains a separate judgment. Keeping those two questions apart makes the edition choice much less mysterious.
